Dominican Parade of NJ Opens Official Search for 2026 Kings and Queens
The Dominican Parade of New Jersey has officially announced its search for Kings and Queens for the 2026 celebration, opening registration to members of the community who wish to represent Dominican culture and heritage. Organizers describe the initiative as an opportunity for participants to serve as cultural ambassadors and proudly showcase the traditions and provincial pride of the Dominican Republic during one of the state’s most recognized cultural events.
The pageant is open to men and women between the ages of 16 and 60, as well as a children’s category for girls ages 5 to 10. Applicants must be Dominican or of Dominican descent to qualify. The program is designed to highlight community leadership, cultural knowledge, and presentation, reinforcing the parade’s mission of celebrating identity, unity, and heritage.
Beyond the pageant itself, organizers say the initiative also serves as a platform to empower community members, especially youth, by giving them visibility, confidence, and opportunities to engage in cultural and civic events. Winners will not only be recognized during parade festivities but are also expected to participate in appearances and activities that promote Dominican heritage, community pride, and positive representation throughout New Jersey.
Registration is currently open and will close on May 1, 2026. Those interested in participating or seeking additional information can contact the organizers directly at 973-345-2326 or 973-800-9307. Organizers encourage early registration, noting that selected participants will play an important role in representing the Dominican community throughout the year’s festivities.
